Ephesians 6:14 (NKJV) – Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
What is Truth?
- Truth is Jesus Christ Himself
- John 14:2-6
2 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. 4 And where I go you know, and the way you know.”
5 Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?”
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
- Exodus 12:8-11
8 Then they shall eat the flesh on that night; roasted in fire, with unleavened bread andwith bitter herbs they shall eat it. 9 Do not eat it raw, nor boiled at all with water, but roasted in fire—its head with its legs and its entrails. 10 You shall let none of it remain until morning, and what remains of it until morning you shall burn with fire. 11 And thus you shall eat it: with a belt on your waist, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. So you shall eat it in haste. It is the Lord’s Passover.
- Truth is the Word of God
- John 17:17
Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
- John 1:14
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
“Father, thank You that Your Word is Truth (John 17:17); that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth (John 14:17 and 15:26); and that Jesus is the Way, The Truth and the Life (John 14:6). Father, we ask that you might help us to put on the belt of truth and to be people who speak the truth, who love the truth; people who believe the truth, that we might experience Your blessing, and that we might stand against the many schemes of the devil, in Jesus’ name, Amen.”
